The enchanted suitcase

A performing arts class for the playful mind. Come open the Enchanted Suitcase and uncover the plot of our next play. Classes may include: mask work, clowning, folklore, animal work, animation, make-believe and more!

Physical theatre & Dance

This class is the heart of UWA. It uses music, storytelling, modern dance techniques, and play, to create an original physical theatre piece.

Animated Storytelling

Enter the world of your very own animated storybook! This class incorporates movement, physical theatre, acting, drawing, photography, and storytelling into an original, animated storybook! Each class imagines a tale of our own, then we learn how to draw it and perform the voices so that it comes to life in an original animation.

Animated Storytelling (

ANIMAL WORKSHOP)

These 8-week workshops pair a scientist, an artist, and an acting teacher with a group of students to create an original animated work. Students will learn about the life of a particular animal with our guest science teacher. Then, they will learn to draw it with the help of a professional artist and illustrator. Finally, the acting teacher will help them to create and voice a story that will come to life in an exciting, animated tale. Select animations will be submitted to kids film festivals all over the world!

Beginning Stages

An acting class for young storytellers. Beginning Stages is where “make believe” meets the stage, by incorporating fun acting games, dance and ensemble collaborative storytelling to make an original play. An illustrated storybook is given to each student to take home.

Encore! (

Drama 1 & 2)

UWAs Encore Drama classes use acting techniques, improv, movement, and collaborative storytelling to create an original play. A professional Playbill is made for each performance and given to the students to take home.

Storytelling in Film

An acting and filmmaking class. Storytelling in Film uses acting techniques and ensemble storytelling to make a short film.
