This class is the heart of UWA. It uses music, storytelling, modern dance techniques, and play, to create an original physical theatre piece.

Currently offered at SLDT in Queens, NY.

Animated Storytelling

Enter the world of your very own animated storybook! This class incorporates movement, physical theatre, acting, drawing, photography, and storytelling into an original, animated storybook! Each class imagines a tale of our own, then we learn how to draw it and perform the voices so that it comes to life in an original animation.

Currently at Village Community School, NYC.

Animated Storytelling (

ANIMAL WORKSHOP)

These 8-week workshops pair a scientist, an artist, and an acting teacher with a group of students to create an original animated work. Students will learn about the life of a particular animal with our guest science teacher. Then, they will learn to draw it with the help of a professional artist and illustrator. Finally, the acting teacher will help them to create and voice a story that will come to life in an exciting, animated tale. Select animations will be submitted to kids film festivals all over the world!

Past guests include: Christopher Rota (assistant professor of quantitative ecology at West Virginia University.) and Stavros Pavlides (visual artist and illustrator, SVA).

Current Project (in-progress): Horse Power
